See Figure 1. The National Geological Surveys of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) were tasked with identifying suitable areas for waste disposal at a depth of around 500 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GEUS published a report with the results in January 2022, finding 10 suitable locations in Denmark for final storage [3].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus, only a political mandate is awaited to take the next step and start building it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finland and Sweden have finished depot projects, and Finland&#8217;s is finished. And they deposited EVERYTHING, i.e., do not sort. The cost per produced kWh (the first 30 years) is 1 dkk \u00d8RE per kWh [4]. Nothing technically prevents Denmark from creating a similar final repository.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Take Away Points<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>GEUS has found 10 locations in Denmark suitable areas for waste disposal at a depth of around 500 meters for existing Danish waste and nuclear power plants possibly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Nothing technically prevents Denmark from creating a similar final repository. Thus, only a political mandate is awaited to take the next step and start building it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Finland and Sweden have solved it cheaply and efficiently.
